Media freedom - Child Porn

We acknowledge receipt of your complaint concerning the "3-13-12" advert. Adverts unfortunately do not fall within the ambit of the BCCSA's Code of Conduct.

Please refer your complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), the body who deals with these complaints: e-mail address: complaint@asasa.org.za.

The BCCSA can only consider complaints which deal with the content of broadcast programmes and programme promos. Our Code covers matters such as factually incorrect or biased news reporting; unfair comment; explicit sex; excessive violence or crude language on TV and radio; material which could offend on religious grounds or incite racial hatred; the invasion of privacy...



Dear bccsa@nabsa.co.za, All of a topic at the moment is the media bill, and child pornography.

Now this may not TECHNICALLY be called child pornography – however the message is the same:

Do you want HOT SEXY TIPS? then a CHILD’S VOICE ADVERTISES 3 -13 -12

EHM EHM I don’t like it! Not one BIT! I’ve heard this advert on 5FM, ETV and a good few other radio stations, all BCCSA signatories.

It may not be child porn, but it’s damn close – it blurs the line between children & selling sexy services – it borders on child prostitution!
